INSTRUMENT PETTING ZOOS & DISCOVER MUSIC

Working closely with music stores and various educational entities in the region, Jane and the musicians of the Reno Pops regularly stand by to provide encouragement and basic instruction while young people have the chance to play on a musical instrument for the first time.  It is hoped that this early exposure to the exhillarating feeling of producing musical sounds on a classical instrument will encourage children to sign up for private lessons and music classes when the opportunity arises.  Some of these presentations are expanded into outreach chamber concerts and fun educational activites for groups of students in a variety of settings.  Contact the Reno Pops Board at renopops.org to discuss an instrument petting zoo or discover music session for your group.

RENO POPS ORCHESTRA SUMMER MUSIC CAMP

Under Jane’s leadership, the Reno Pops Orchestra and Washoe County School District have formed a partnership to provide a low-cost summer music camp for young musicians in the Truckee Meadows.  Look for more details at renopops.org .
